The Arts and Education Council offers programs that promote what we call the elements of a vibrant community. The arts can inspire our kids, bridge cultural divides, energize communities, foster our economy and enrich lives. Explore each of our current programs below.
The Arts and Education Council's incubator, the Centene Center for the Arts, is home to 21 organizations of all sizes and disciplines. Located in the heart of the Grand Center Arts District, the incubator provides the resources these tenants need to grow their impact in the community.
Catalyst Conversations is a free series featuring engaging discussions - some playful, some serious - with creative people who inspire us to think differently.
Katherine Dunham Fellowship
The Katherine Dunham Fellowship promotes diversity in arts leadership by training African-American undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent graduates, the ins and outs of arts administration through a paid semester-long opportunity.
Keep Art Happening Scholarship
The Arts and Education Council funds the Keep Art Happening Scholarship at the annual St. Louis Teen Talent Competition presented by the Fox Theater Performing Arts Foundation each April.
stARTup Creative Competition
The stARTup Creative Competition, a partnership with PNC Foundation, identifies arts entrepreneurs with innovative ideas for the St. Louis arts community and provides the resources they need to further develop those ideas.
St. Louis Suburban Music Educators Association
In partnership with EducationPlus, the Arts and Education Council manages this association for honors bands and music festival competitions in St. Louis County and St. Charles County.
